Set thousands of years in the future, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a young man propelled by fate into an intergalactic power struggle. The son of beloved, embattled ruler Duke Leto and powerful warrior priestess Lady Jessica, Paul will be given the ultimate test: to conquer his fear when fate—and powerful unseen forces—pull him inexorably to the sands of the remote planet Arrakis.
Imagined for the big screen by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, “Dune” is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel considered one of the most influential books of the 20th century and credited with inspiring many of the greatest films of all time. The film is slated to be released in select theaters in 2D and 3D and IMAX and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.
Timothée Chalamet (Paul Atreides) will next be seen starring in the Wes Anderson film “The French Dispatch,” Frances McDormand and Lyna Khoudri. The film brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th century French city. The film debuted at the Cannes International Film Festival to rave reviews, and it will be released on October 22. Later this year, Chalamet has a supporting role in Adam McKay’s Netflix film “Don’t Look Up,” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence.
Zendaya (Chani) launched her career as an actress on Disney Channel, starring in the hit series “Shake It Up” for three seasons and “K.C. Undercover” for three seasons, which she also helped produce.
Zendaya moved to the big screen in 2017 when she played MJ alongside Tom Holland in the newest Spider-Man trilogy, with the final film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” premiering in December 2021. Her other credits include “The Greatest Showman” and the animated films “Smallfoot” and “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”
Most recently, Zendaya starred in HBO and A24’s “Euphoria,” for which she won an Emmy Award for her performance as Rue, making her the youngest woman to win an Emmy for Lead Actress in a Drama. Zendaya can also be seen as titular character Marie in Netflix’s “Malcolm and Marie,” a film she helped create and produce in the beginning of the pandemic.
