The Super Nintendo World theme park at Universal Studios Hollywood is now open, offering Nintendo fans an immersive experience in the world of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. The park’s highlights include the innovative “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” ride and other attractions.
Upon entering the Mushroom Kingdom, guests can pick up a Power-Up Band, a modern wearable wristband that integrates with the Universal Studios Hollywood app to enrich the park’s interactive elements. The band allows visitors to gather digital coins and keys to access the final boss battle against Bowser Jr.
The “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” ride is influenced by the beloved Mario Kart game and combines augmented reality (AR) with projection mapping technology and actual set pieces along a moving ride track. The ride offers a variety of outcomes and can be ridden multiple times. Additionally, the Mushroom Kingdom features Mount Beanpole, the gateway to Bowser’s Castle and “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge,” the Toadstool Café, serving Mario Bros.-themed cuisine, and the 1-UP Factor, where visitors can shop for souvenirs and collectibles.
