Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Northern Thailand has introduced Canopy, A Tree Top Dining Experience, reflecting the resort’s focus on sustainability and local cuisine.
Situated 171 feet above the grasslands, Canopy is designed as an open-sided structure resembling local beehives, constructed with natural materials in muted, earthy colors. It provides a 360-degree view of the Golden Triangle, offering a quiet setting where the sounds of the forest and the surrounding landscape take center stage.
At dawn, guests can use binoculars to observe the wildlife below, including elephants from the nearby camp. The lunch period brings a variety of regional dishes as the jungle comes alive in daylight, while sunset transforms the space into a spot for evening drinks against the backdrop of the setting sun.
The tasting menus at Canopy, presented in traditional Pinto containers, showcase a blend of savory and sweet flavors. The Mekong Discovery menu includes regional dishes like Laotian riverweed with yellowfin tuna larb and Chiang Rai curried pork on roasted rice toast. The Culinary Adventure menu features a mix of Eastern and Western influences, such as wagyu short ribs on artisanal bread, Phuket lobster wraps, and native strawberry with mint in choux pastry. The Gourmet Odyssey menu incorporates ingredients like wagyu M5 beef, king scallops, and Royal Projects caviar, with desserts such as kaffir lime financier and burnt coconut crème brûlée.
Tasting menus start at $411 per couple, with Canopy open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for breakfast, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for lunch, and 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for evening dining.
