The development of the first Royal Beach Club is set to commence, as Royal Caribbean International secures approval from the government of The Bahamas. The cruise line, known as the world’s largest and most popular, plans to create a 17-acre destination experience at the western end of Paradise Island in Nassau, The Bahamas, which combines the island’s picturesque beaches with the company’s signature experiences, resulting in the ultimate beach day, known as The Royal Beach Club at Paradise Island.
Crafted in collaboration with the Bahamian government, the project will establish a public-private partnership in which Bahamians will be able to own up to 49% equity in the beach club. Local businesses and entrepreneurs will also be invited to manage the majority of the experience, providing hundreds of employment opportunities for both construction and long-term operation of the venture.
The 17-acre destination will feature stunning pools, private cabanas and other signature experiences for vacationers to enjoy. The project will generate hundreds of jobs during its construction and long-term operation. Visitors will be immersed in Bahamian culture and cuisine, with island-style barbecues, live music and local artisans. The beach club will be located on 13 acres of land owned by the cruise line and 4 acres of Crown Land, which will be contributed as equity to ensure a share of profits return to the government and reinvested in the local community. The collaboration between the government, the community and Royal Caribbean will continue as the development moves forward.
