On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the first drive-thru-focused Chick-fil-A location on O‘ahu was open in Honolulu. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has appointed Zane Dydasco, a native of O‘ahu, as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Makiki, situated at 1056 S Beretania Street, Honolulu, HI, 96814. The restaurant operates from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. every Monday through Saturday.
Chick-fil-A Makiki’s design will emphasize the company’s signature hospitality, featuring a dual-lane drive-thru experience to cater to guests in the comfort of their vehicles. Additionally, the restaurant will offer three walk-up windows for pedestrians to place their orders for carry-out, providing face-to-face service with Team Members. Dine-in services will not be available at this drive-thru-focused location.
Customers of Chick-fil-A Makiki will have the option to download the Chick-fil-A App and join the Chick-fil-A One-tiered membership program, earning points on qualifying purchases that can be redeemed for rewards. Third-party delivery services will be introduced in the near future.
In his role in Honolulu, Dydasco will oversee all day-to-day activities of the business, including managing approximately 150 full- and part-time Team Members, attending to customers, and building connections with local organizations and businesses.
The locally owned and operated Chick-fil-A Makiki focuses on enhancing the guest experience through innovation, efficiency, and hospitality with its drive-thru focused restaurant model. Team Members will serve guests at the three walk-up windows, while others will personally attend to customers in the drive-thru line using tablets to take orders. This system allows for faster throughput than traditional speaker box drive-thrus. To ensure the comfort of restaurant Team Members working in the drive-thru line during warm weather, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has collaborated with clothing brands to design cooling vests and moisture-wicking uniforms.
Chick-fil-A’s commitment to serving customers high-quality food made from premium ingredients is reflected in their practices. The produce used in their recipes is delivered up to six times a week, and their chicken is raised with No Antibiotics Ever from the egg, upholding the highest standard of non-antibiotic use.
Guests at Chick-fil-A Makiki will have the opportunity to savor breakfast options such as the iconic Chick-n-Minis entrée, Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuits, Hash Brown Scramble Bowl, and more, available from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Following that, the restaurant will switch to its classic Chick-fil-A Menu.
Among the delectable offerings are the renowned Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, made with a perfectly seasoned boneless breast of chicken, hand-breaded and served on a toasted bun with pickles. Guests can also enjoy Chick-fil-A Nuggets, available breaded or grilled, which pair well with any of the seven delicious Chick-fil-A dipping sauces. Additionally, the Chick-fil-A Waffle Potato Fries are made from real potatoes, and the Chick-fil-A salad entrées, including the Market and Cobb, are prepared fresh daily. For a refreshing beverage, the Regular Chick-fil-A Lemonade is made from three simple ingredients: real lemon juice, cane sugar, and water.
