The CEO and CTO of Lucid Group, Peter Rawlinson, expressed his delight at receiving the award and stated that he believed the Lucid Air was the best car in the world currently available. He attributed the car’s success to Lucid’s in-house powertrain technology, which provides a groundbreaking electric range of over 500 miles. Derek Jenkins, Senior Vice President of Design and Brand at Lucid Group, hailed the award as a validation of their goal to create a wholly new luxury sedan experience. The Lucid Air beat fifteen other luxury cars from around the world to win the award.

The car also won the 2023 Newsweek Disruptor Award for Powertrain and was named the Best Luxury Electric Car in the 2023 Best Hybrid and Electric Cars list by US News & World Report. Lucid set a new industry benchmark for range with the Lucid Air, which boasts two versions that were the first EVs to achieve an EPA-estimated range above 500 miles. The car’s superior performance, fast charging capabilities, luxurious and spacious interior, and class-leading aerodynamics contributed to it being named the World Luxury Car of the Year.
