At the London premiere of Argylle, the latest film from director Matthew Vaughn, the atmosphere at Leicester Square was charged with anticipation. Matthew Vaughn, known for the Kingsman franchise and Kick-Ass, presents Argylle, a clever and mind-bending spy thriller that spans the globe.
Elly Conway, portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard from the Jurassic World franchise, is a secluded author with a fondness for quiet nights at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. However, Elly’s peaceful routine is disrupted when the events in her bestselling espionage novels, centered around secret agent Argylle, start resembling the actions of a real-life spy organization.
Teamed up with Aidan, played by Oscar® winner Sam Rockwell and known for his cat allergy, Elly, carrying Alfie in her backpack, races around the world to evade killers. The boundary between Elly’s fictional world and reality blurs as she strives to stay ahead.
The impressive ensemble cast includes Henry Cavill, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Sofia Boutella, and Samuel L. Jackson. Alfie, Elly’s cat, is portrayed by Chip, the real-life cat of supermodel Claudia Vaughn (formerly Schiffer).
Directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn, with a screenplay by Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman), Argylle is a fantasy spy thriller distributed in partnership with Universal Pictures. The film is presented by Apple Original Films in association with MARV, a Cloudy production.
