On Tuesday, November 19, Get Engaged Media hosted “The Entrepreneur As A Brand” at the USC Marshall School of Business, spotlighting Snoop Dogg as a guest speaker and honoree. During the event, the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies presented Snoop Dogg with the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, celebrating his remarkable success as a global entrepreneur and brand innovator.
Students from USC Marshall flocked to the Greif Center to hear Snoop Dogg, along with Get Engaged Media’s co-founders Cam Fordham and Ben Hiott and Chief Strategy Officer Jason Zerden, discuss topics like entrepreneurship, building strong brand partnerships, and business growth strategies. Moderated by Professor Albert Napoli, the panel offered students an engaging look at how personal branding and collaboration can drive entrepreneurial success.
Snoop Dogg, sporting a custom USC-inspired tracksuit, shared powerful advice drawn from his years of experience in entertainment and business. He emphasized the importance of surrounding yourself with talented teammates, saying: “I am probably the dumbest person on my team. I love having people that can bring the best out of me. If I’m around people who are good at what they do, it makes me great. I like to put people in the position to shine – it makes me shine.”
The event concluded with the USC marching band energizing the audience by performing Snoop Dogg classics and the USC fight song. Snoop joined in, dancing and singing along in his iconic style, leaving students inspired and the event unforgettable.
This dynamic event at USC highlighted Snoop Dogg’s impact as a trailblazing entrepreneur and reinforced the importance of combining vision, collaboration, and innovation in building a successful brand.
