Sesame Place San Diego, the newest theme park in California from Sea World and the first Sesame Place on the West Coast, is now open. The park opens as Certified Autism Center as designated by The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
Sesame Place offers 18 Sesame Street-themed rides and water attractions, including a family-friendly rollercoaster, wave pool and lazy river, plus rides and waters slides, all included with park admission. The theme park is located 20 minutes from San Diego and 2.5 hours from Los Angeles.
The 11 water attractions include Big Bird’s Beach with a 500,000-gallon wave pool, Elmo’s Silly Sand Slides for little ones, The Count’s Splash Castle, an interactive, water-play attraction with a 500-gallon water bucket drop.
