ASAI Bangkok Sathorn made its mark on the city’s hotel landscape with a vibrant event known as The Hamlet Block Party: ASAI x Aperol Neighbour-Fest. This two-day festival, designed to underscore the hotel’s ties to the local community and showcase its commitment to collaboration and community engagement, took place from May 27 to May 28, 2023.
The festival brought together various trendy establishments along Sathorn Sois 10 and 12, situated near Bangkok’s central business district. The event featured a diverse array of pop-up dining, drinking, entertainment, and artistic experiences, both within the hotel premises and throughout the surrounding neighborhood.
Some of the renowned local eateries and bars, including Le Café des Stagiaires, ModKaew Wine Bar, Kai New Zealand, XII Mediterranean, Bardo, Mezcal, and Cetara, offered exclusive promotions on their food and beverage menus during the occasion. Live performances from local bands and DJs, including an enchanting drag show at Mezcal, also graced several of these venues.
In line with ASAI Bangkok Sathorn’s ambition to become a lively community hub, the hotel curated various engaging activities. These included a pop-up burger stand by Little Market, a distinctive Burmese lunch experience led by guest chef Lady GooGoo, an evening DJ party and cocktail event featuring Aperol, an art exhibition showcasing the works of local artists, and a series of interactive workshops. Noteworthy workshops included a latte art session led by Rocket Coffeebar, a sustainable ‘BioPlastic’ product crafting workshop by Hutsama, and a creative photography workshop led by the esteemed photographer Phichai Kaewvichit, who once worked as a motorcycle taxi rider.
The event also hosted an exclusive dining experience by guest chefs Bo Songvisava and Dylan Jones, the masterminds behind the innovative restaurant concept ERR Urban Rustic Thai at ASAI Bangkok Sathorn. Their exquisite Thai cuisine, created using seasonal and sustainable ingredients, wowed diners. Bo.Ian, their former venture, had previously earned a Michelin Star for a similar culinary approach.
Food enthusiasts were also treated to an exclusive Trattoria Sunday Brunch, thoughtfully crafted by guest chefs Manuelo from Giglio and Miro from Cetara.
Mr. Siradej Donavanik, Vice President of Development Global at Dusit International and Head of Culture for ASAI Hotels, remarked, “This event encapsulates the core of the ASAI experience. At ASAI, our mission is to facilitate the ‘Live Local’ concept for our guests, fostering meaningful connections with our neighbors to create exceptional experiences for both visitors and locals. The resounding success of the Hamlet Block Party underscores this community-centric approach, and we are thrilled to have hosted an unforgettable gathering for all who participated.”
