In celebration of Gaddi’s ongoing success and to offer local Hong Kong residents a “hidden gem” experience, the Grande Dame will present a one-night only dinner celebration on Thursday, May 27, 2021, which will transport guests back to the 1970s through a glamorous culinary extravaganza. Along the way, guests will be guided through six key aspects of Gaddi’s gleaming story by  Restaurant Manager Michele Drusacchi – The Origin: Leo Gaddi, A Legendary Maître d’hôtel: Rolf Heiniger, The 70s: A New Era, The Aesthetics, The New Millennium and The Michelin Star

Paying tribute to the restaurant’s legendary longevity, Chef de Cuisine Albin Gobil has specially curated a special six-course menu featuring a contemporary interpretation of classic French dishes from the 70s, pairing with a rare selection of exquisite fine wines from the same decade selected by the restaurant’s Sommelier Felix Law. On this special occasion, Gaddi’s brings back nostalgic memories with a live jazz band performance of selected songs played at the restaurant by The Keymen from the 1960s and 1970s.

Highlights of Chef Gobil’s rewind menu include:

Brittany Turbot Argenteuil, French Morels, Matelote Sauce

Turbot from Brittany on the west coast of France is renowned for its freshness and incomparable flavor. The asparagus and morels match perfectly with the grilled dense and meaty fish. The Sommelier pairs this dish with the smoky and soft 1975 Château Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac, Bordeaux and Mouton Rothschild was the only top wine estate upgraded to the 1st growth in 1973 under the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification. This wine intensifies the smokiness of the grilled turbot and elevates this light yet exquisite dish to a sublime level.

Limousin Veal Prince Orloff, Gratin Dauphinoise, Herb Salad

Stuffed with Emmental cheese, bacon, mushrooms duxelles and mornay sauce, the veal is then rolled to make the meat tender, succulent and creamy. The Sommelier has selected the 1970 Château L’Évangile, Pomerol, Bordeaux (Double Magnum), which is rich in flavor and delicate in texture to pair with the dish, which will be carved tableside while serving, making it the highlight of the night.

For this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, guests will be gifted “The Story of Gaddi’s” limited edition book and a framed Polaroid by an expert Leica photographer as mementoes.
