The Swiss sportswear brand ‘On’ recently inaugurated its latest store in Miami, solidifying the company’s ongoing retail expansion efforts and establishing its fifth presence in the United States. Spanning across 3,229 square feet of retail space situated in Miami’s prestigious designer district, the store serves as a platform to showcase On’s most recent footwear and performance apparel innovations. Moreover, it provides an environment where patrons can immerse themselves in the store’s design, which subtly incorporates elements reminiscent of Miami’s tropical outdoor surroundings and its cultural artistic heritage.
The store’s design concept harmoniously blends raw natural aesthetics with cutting-edge technology while drawing inspiration from its local context. The color scheme, featuring earthy tones and cement panels infused with sand grains, seeks to evoke the warmth and natural essence of Miami Beach.
At the heart of On Miami lies the ‘Magic Wall,’ a captivating structure standing at over eight feet tall. This innovative feature reimagines the conventional retail experience by allowing shoppers to immediately try on On’s latest footwear. Concealed drawers within the Magic Wall house a comprehensive range of sizes, eliminating the typical waiting time for customers and facilitating more engaging interactions with On’s knowledgeable store advisors.
Additionally, On Miami introduces its rendition of the alpine boulder, a signature element found in numerous On stores worldwide. Each boulder is a meticulously 3D-scanned recreation of a genuine boulder from the Swiss Alps, the place where On’s journey originated. The Miami store’s boulder, collaboratively designed with artist Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, embraces a sustainability-focused approach. It features hand-hammered metal contours treated with state-of-the-art chromaflair paint, inspired by Miami’s art deco and car culture, providing an illusion of changing colors as viewers move around it. This dynamic and interactive installation offers a unique experience to visitors.
Beyond its role as a retail space, On Miami is dedicated to hosting community events and experiences. The store will also host Run Clubs every Wednesday, with guest hosts co-leading the group along the city’s most popular running routes.
Since its establishment in 2010, On has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing sportswear brands. In Q2 2023, On reported remarkable net sales of CHF 444.3 million (equivalent to over $500 million USD) – the highest in the company’s history – along with a remarkable year-over-year growth rate exceeding 52 percent on a global scale.
