Officine Universelle Buly has recently opened a new boutique in Kobe, Japan, along with a matching café, in the bustling downtown area of Motomachi, within the Kobe BAL Annex shopping complex.
The modern façade features shimmering imperial green patinas and a contrasting marbled frieze, designed by co-founder Ramdane Touhami and Art Recherche Industrie to accommodate Japan’s love for eclectic aesthetics. The interior design includes antique marble, precious woods, period lighting, and lavish lacquered wood crafted by the brand’s cabinet maker in Burgundy.

The paintings, shellac, and decorative paint streaks were created by a Japanese ornamental painter. The boutique comes with a café, Le Café de l’Officine Universelle Buly, the brand’s first hospitality concept worldwide, featuring a monumental marble counter, floor-to-ceiling molded timber cabinets, and flooring reminiscent of French stately homes. Customers can enjoy freshly baked pastries and cakes while surrounded by the wondrous cosmetic interlude of creams and ancestral beauty recipes, making it a matchless address for a leisurely awakening of all the senses.
