In a landmark collaboration between the esteemed three-Michelin-star Chef Corey Lee and the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), a new restaurant concept named Na Oh is poised to introduce a distinctive addition to Singapore’s diverse culinary scene.
Meaning ‘moving from inside out’ in Korean, Na Oh is envisioned to transcend the traditional notion of a mere dining establishment, aiming to become a focal point in Singapore that celebrates Korean cuisine, craftsmanship, and design.
Guided by the culinary expertise of Chef Corey Lee from San Francisco, Na Oh reimagines traditional Korean culinary traditions through a contemporary perspective, representing Chef Corey Lee’s inaugural venture into Southeast Asia, thus enriching the culinary landscape of the city with an element of novelty.
At the heart of Na Oh’s concept lies the involvement of HMGICS, which will play a pivotal role in shaping the restaurant’s identity. By integrating Na Oh within HMGICS, the establishment aims to elevate the visitor experience beyond the conventional confines of an automotive production facility, transforming it into a distinctive hospitality destination within Singapore.
Leveraging state-of-the-art automation and robotics technology, HMGICS operates a groundbreaking two-story vertical smart farm capable of producing over 30kg of fresh produce daily. This pioneering facility represents the world’s first robotics smart farm tailored for customer engagement, open for public visitation. Na Oh will directly source ingredients from this innovative farm, establishing a direct link between food production and technological innovation, thereby offering patrons a distinctive farm-to-table dining experience.
Under the tutelage of Chef Corey Lee, Na Oh’s culinary team is poised to deliver an exquisite interpretation of hansik cuisine, finely tuned for the modern palate. Drawing inspiration from Korean heritage, Na Oh not only promises to tantalize taste buds but also aims to offer cultural insights through its carefully curated collaborations with Korea’s esteemed master artisans. Na Oh is slated to open its doors to the public in June 2024.
