Exclusive Dining Experience at ‘Canton Red’
For the duration of the Lunar New Year celebrations, Canton Blue, The Peninsula London’s acclaimed Cantonese restaurant, will transform into ‘Canton Red.’ From 18th January to 8th February, the restaurant will embrace the significance of the color red in Chinese culture, symbolizing prosperity, good fortune, and vitality. The restaurant’s vibrant red floral decorations, Chinese lanterns, and red-adorned entrance create a festive atmosphere for an unforgettable dining experience.
The festive menu, featuring innovative twists on traditional Cantonese dishes, includes:
- Starters: Golden fish dumpling with pumpkin seafood sauce, barbecued pork, prawn dumpling, and crispy chicken with savory shrimp paste.
- Main Courses: Steamed fish with ginger, shiitake mushrooms, and soy sauce; deep-fried lobster with salted egg sauce; stir-fried Wagyu beef with wild mushrooms; and homemade spinach noodles.
- Dessert: Chestnut cream and mandarin mousse, representing wealth and good fortune.
In addition, guests dining at Canton Red will receive a traditional red envelope. On 29th January, a Chinese calligrapher will also be available to write bespoke messages of prosperity for the upcoming year. The three-course set menu is available for £188 per person (exclusive of drinks) for both lunch and dinner sittings.
Chinese Tea Ceremony Masterclasses
From Saturday 25th January to Wednesday 5th February, The Peninsula London will host daily Chinese tea ceremony masterclasses at Canton Red’s Tea Lounge. These sessions, led by expert tea masters, will offer an introduction to the rich history and techniques of Chinese tea culture.
