The LEGO Group made a significant announcement, disclosing its selection of 1001 Boylston Street in Boston, MA, as the future site for its Americas head office, slated for relocation in 2026. This new office, nestled at the convergence of Boylston Street, Massachusetts Avenue, and Newbury Street, will serve as the linchpin for the company’s long-term growth aspirations, aiming to continuously ignite the creativity and development of tomorrow’s builders.

Skip Kodak, serving as the President of the LEGO Group in the Americas, conveyed excitement about the impending move to this historically rich location in Back Bay, linking Boston and Cambridge. He remarked, “The choice of 1001 Boylston Street reflects our investment in the future and our unwavering commitment to our dedicated workforce. We firmly believe that fostering a modern, collaborative work environment will fuel creativity and innovation. We eagerly anticipate the opportunities this new space will bring.”

The decision to zero in on 1001 Boylston Street came after an exhaustive search across Boston, initiated following the January 2023 announcement regarding the Americas head office’s move from its current Enfield, CT headquarters. This location was strategically picked to leverage the region’s diverse talent pool and cultivate robust alliances with other pioneering companies nearby.

Kodak emphasized, “This move aligns seamlessly with our long-term growth strategy and underscores our dedication to staying at the forefront of innovation. Boston stands out as one of the most livable cities in the United States, boasting world-class arts, leisure activities, prestigious educational and research partners, and a thriving business community. Our transition to 1001 Boylston Street ensures that we can continue to fulfill our mission of bringing the joy of LEGO® play to even more children across the US and the broader Americas region.”

The new office space, spanning five floors and encompassing over 100,000 square feet, is being meticulously crafted with innovation and design excellence at its core, offering dedicated spaces for collaborative work as well as focused individual endeavors.

Moreover, 1001 Boylston Street places a premium on well-being, accessibility, and sustainability. The site will be easily accessible to those choosing to commute by foot or bicycle and will be well-connected to public transit, with Green and Orange Line stops within walking distance.

The LEGO Group’s transition to 1001 Boylston Street is expected to commence around mid-2025 and is projected to conclude by the end of 2026. The transition process will be thoughtfully managed over the next four years to provide seamless support to the LEGO colleagues currently based in the existing Enfield, CT office.

In April of this year, the LEGO Group embarked on the construction of its new factory in Richmond, VA, with completion slated for the latter half of 2025. This project is anticipated to generate 1,760 job opportunities over a ten-year period.
