Automobili Lamborghini made a significant debut at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, where they unveiled their inaugural pure-electric concept, the Lanzador. This four-model concept represents a notable departure from Lamborghini’s tradition, as it’s an all-electric Gran Turismo with 2+2 seating and an impressive high ground clearance. The Lanzador combines the high-performance DNA of the flagship Revuelto with the versatility of the Urus, delivering an exceptional on-board experience thanks to innovative infotainment features.
The Lanzador boasts an all-wheel-drive configuration, featuring an electric motor on each axle, ensuring continuous electric propulsion in any driving condition, on any surface, and under any driving style. This setup produces a staggering peak power output exceeding one megawatt. Powering this electric marvel is a cutting-edge high-performance battery, providing not only electrifying performance but also an impressive driving range.
Inside the Lanzador, Lamborghini’s commitment to sustainability is evident. They’ve seamlessly incorporated sustainable materials into the interior without compromising the luxurious aesthetics, quality, or durability that Lamborghini is known for. With uncompromised power, driving pleasure, and performance, the Lanzador is an all-electric Lamborghini designed for everyday enjoyment.
Alongside the Lanzador, Lamborghini showcased a diverse lineup at The Quail, including the 1,015 CV plug-in hybrid Revuelto, which boasts a brand-new V12 mid-engine. Additionally, they featured the adventurous all-terrain Huracán Sterrato and the record-breaking Urus Performante, the fastest production SUV to conquer the Pikes Peak summit, besting the previous record set by the Bentley Bentayga in 2018.
As Lamborghini celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, the company continues to break records, achieving remarkable sales figures in the first half of 2023. Globally, they delivered 5,341 vehicles, surpassing last year’s H1 sales by 251 units. Notably, the Urus maintains its position as the best-selling model, with 3,241 units sold, closely followed by the Huracán. Both models are in high demand and are already sold out through the end of production.
These achievements are pivotal as Lamborghini embarks on the second phase of the Direzione Cor Tauri program, investing a staggering 1.9 billion EUR – the largest investment in the company’s history – through 2028.
