JJ Lin’s in-person concert at Marina Bay Sands will also be streamed on social media channels

Marina Bay Sands and Singaporean superstar JJ Lin are teaming up for a good cause this November with After the Rain, a two-day concert in which ticket proceeds will go to vulnerable communities served by Community Chest.  To be held on 27 and 28 November at Sands Theatre, JJ Lin will perform live for invited guests and members of the public in a limited-capacity environment due to prevailing Safe Management Measures (SMM).  

The concert will also be streamed over JJ Lin’s official YouTube, Weibo and Douyin channels on 28 November, for those who are unable to join him in person.  

The event holds significance for JJ Lin, as it will be his first in-person concert in two years since the Covid-19 pandemic began. Acknowledging that the pandemic has hurt the local music industry, JJ Lin said he wanted to support the local community, adding that 99 per cent of the musicians and crew involved in the concert are Singaporeans. 

JJ shared: “I used to travel all over the world for work in the past. But the pandemic has slowed down the pace of life, so these past months have given me more time to spend with my family and to reflect on life and music. Covid-19 has had a significant impact on many people, both physically and mentally, and I hope that through my concert and music, I can provide a message of positivity, and that together we will be able to overcome these difficult times.” 

Audited Balloting Process 

Due to the limited number of seats for sale, tickets for the two shows will be made available for the public to purchase through a ballot that will start on Tuesday, 16 November, 10:00 hours to 23:59 hours. 

Tickets are sold in a pair, to align with revised seating configurations arising out of current SMM guidelines. 

Timeline of Ballot Process: 

• 15 November: Details on the Ballot Draw will be released on the Event Page 

• 16 November: Fans to submit their purchase interest from 10:00 hours to 23:59 hours 

• 17 November: Ballot draw to commence under the supervision of auditors 

• 19 November: Successful participants will be notified via e-mail 

JJ Lin is best known for his smash hits可惜沒如果 (If Only), 不为谁而作的歌 (Twilight) and她说(She Says). Since his debut in 2003, the singer-songwriter has been dominating the charts and selling out millions of albums in record-breaking time. Lin’s vocal prowess and adept song-writing skills have amassed fans across the region, establishing him as one of Asia’s top male pop stars who have shaped the 21st century Mandopop scene. 

In 2004, Lin took home his first Golden Melody Awards (金曲獎) – ‘Best New Artist’ – for his debut album, 樂行者 (Music Voyager). Since then, the decorated singer has swept away multiple awards across music award shows including Beijing Music Awards, Global Chinese Music Awards and World Music Awards. Lin is also the holder of multiple Golden Melody Awards, the most coveted award in the Chinese music scene. 

The Mandopop sensation last performed at Marina Bay Sands in February this year, giving an unprecedented performance atop the roof of the iconic ArtScience Museum as part of the launch of video-streaming service Disney+ in Singapore.
