Today, the Lucid Group has unveiled the final production specifications for their highly anticipated creation, the Lucid Air Sapphire. This remarkable vehicle stands as the epitome of cutting-edge technology, refined design, and adaptable on-road capabilities, propelling electric performance to unprecedented levels. This unveiling marks a significant leap forward in the realm of automotive innovation.

Distinguished as the world’s premier fully electric luxury super-sports sedan, the Lucid Air Sapphire achieves astonishing feats, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 1.89 seconds, reaching 0-100 mph in 3.84 seconds, and conquering the quarter-mile in a swift 8.95 seconds, all while attaining a top speed of 205 mph.

The cornerstone of Lucid’s new flagship vehicle includes a trio of motors, along with a quartet of driving modes, carbon-ceramic brakes, a meticulously designed aerodynamic package, sport-focused seating, track-tuned suspension, and a host of other features.

Dazzling both in power and efficiency, the Air Sapphire boasts an impressive 1,234 horsepower and a remarkable EPA-estimated range of 427 miles on a single charge, achieving a remarkable efficiency of 3.61 miles per kilowatt-hour (mi/kWh), representing a remarkable amalgamation of capabilities.

The commencement of Air Sapphire’s production is slated for September, with deliveries following in close succession.

The Lucid Air Sapphire redefines expectations with an extraordinary range of 427 miles on a sole charge, establishing a benchmark for high-performance electric vehicle capabilities. Under its sleek exterior lies a meticulously developed and internally manufactured three-motor powertrain, which combines to deliver an awe-inspiring 1,234 horsepower and a staggering 1,430 lb-ft of torque. Enhanced power distribution through the dual rear-drive unit facilitates a blistering acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in a mere 1.89 seconds, culminating in a quarter-mile dash in 8.95 seconds at 158 mph.

The Lucid Air Sapphire boasts a starting price of $249,000 in its fully-equipped configuration, exclusive of taxes, title, registration, and other fees in the United States. Information pertaining to availability in international markets beyond North America will be communicated at a later juncture.

In keeping with the tradition of Lucid’s Air models, the Air Sapphire seamlessly melds form and function, transforming the luxury sedan into a work of automotive artistry. Distinctive attributes of the Sapphire include an exterior meticulously designed for optimal downforce and high-speed efficiency, accentuated by an exclusive Sapphire Blue exterior paint complemented by Lucid’s signature Stealth Look trim. The Sapphire’s Aero wheels are adorned with specially engineered Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, enhancing performance and efficiency, further accentuated by detachable carbon-fiber aero disk wheel covers.

Reflecting the elegance of the exterior, the cabin of the Lucid Air Sapphire extends a harmonious ambiance with a novel interior theme known as Sapphire Mojave. Custom-designed sports seats, exclusive to the Sapphire model, provide both support and comfort, complete with heating, cooling, and massage functions.

Introducing a pair of carefully configured modes, along with supplementary performance settings, the Air Sapphire provides a distinctive driving experience. Boasting a collection of four drive modes, namely Smooth, Swift, Sapphire, and Track, each mode is finely tuned for diverse conditions and driving styles, influencing the car’s demeanor, suspension behavior, steering, brakes, torque distribution, peak power and torque, and thermal management.

The Smooth mode optimizes the vehicle for effortless, efficient driving comfort. Transitioning to Swift mode introduces a spirited edge to road driving, while maintaining comfort. The Sapphire mode offers an exhilarating fusion of power, torque, and agility, creating the ultimate on-road driving experience. The Track mode, meticulously crafted for racetrack use, introduces three sub-modes – Dragstrip, Hot Lap, and Endurance – further fine-tuning the powertrain and battery for peak performance.

With its distinctive powertrain arrangement, performance focus, and innovative features and drive modes, the Air Sapphire stands as a unique presence within the Lucid Air lineup. The standard equipment package of the Air Sapphire encompasses a dual rear-drive unit working harmoniously with a single motor front-drive unit, meticulously retuned front and rear springs, bushings, anti-roll bars, and steering software. The vehicle also features specialized adaptive damper control software, ABS tuning, stability control, brake booster, and electronic power steering (EPS) systems. Proprietary torque vectoring control algorithms and in-house developed traction control further enhance performance. Revised front and rear suspension geometry augments steering responsiveness.

Enhancing braking capabilities, the Air Sapphire incorporates new carbon ceramic brakes – front 420mm rotors with 10-piston calipers and rear 390mm rotors with 4-piston calipers. The distinct Aero Sapphire wheels, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, pair harmoniously with co-developed Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires featuring a bespoke Sapphire-specific compound.
