Andaz Macau stands as a remarkable architectural presence in the city, with its two towering hotel structures strategically located between the picturesque and well-preserved neighborhoods of Old Taipa and Coloane. Guests have convenient access to the city’s charming traditional attractions and the world-class facilities of Galaxy Macau. The hotel is seamlessly connected to both the Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) and the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena, offering unmatched convenience for convention center attendees and leisure travelers eager to explore the city.
The hotel’s design is a true homage to Macau’s heritage and culture. It draws inspiration from the traditional architecture of Macau, incorporating unique elements that pay tribute to the city’s storied history. From the distinctive forms of old maritime harbor ships to the vibrant traditions of local Chinese culture, Andaz Macau embarks on a journey of exploration, presenting a contemporary interpretation of the city’s unique heritage. Throughout the premises, guests can encounter a stunning array of art and antiques that reflect the city’s diverse and deeply layered culture.
Upon entering Andaz Macau, guests are greeted by art installations that capture the unique fusion of East-West cultures for which Macau is renowned. Among these is a striking wall installation titled “Landscapes Interlaced,” featuring layered Macau skyline photographs interwoven with natural Chinese materials. The hotel also showcases elegant sculptures adorned with hand-painted Portuguese tile patterns and mannequins elegantly dressed in intricately embroidered couture gowns.
One of the standout features is the “Macau Steps,” an extraordinary, multi-sensory staircase that presents over 100 videos narrating the city’s history, creating a captivating and immersive experience. These videos begin with bustling streets at the base, gradually leading to a tranquil and serene natural landscape at the top, taking guests on an enchanting journey that encapsulates the essence of the authentic Macau.
The Andaz Lounge on Level 6 is thoughtfully designed with nods to Macau’s rich history, featuring a Portuguese-style mosaic crafted from mother-of-pearl and a stunning display of couture gowns that exemplify the incredible craftsmanship of both Chinese and Portuguese cultures. This space serves as a serene oasis and a social hub, where guests can connect while savoring freshly brewed coffee or unwinding after exploring the city.
The hotel’s rooms and suites draw inspiration from the surrounding environment, with soothing forest greens and earthy orange tones reflecting the lush green landscapes of the neighborhood. The accommodations range from spacious 375 square feet (35 square meters) guestrooms to expansive 730 square feet (68 square meters) suites. These welcoming spaces are complemented by carefully curated local amenities and a minibar stocked with locally sourced treats, including biscuits from Macau Yeng Kee Bakery.
Andaz Macau caters to gourmands, boasting three captivating culinary venues where guests can savor the authentic flavors of Macau alongside classic dishes, tantalizing their taste buds with the city’s rich culinary heritage. The largest eatery, Andaz Kitchen, is a vibrant all-day-dining destination where talented chefs engage in live-action cooking, presenting a diverse array of Chinese, Portuguese, and Western cuisine. The design of Andaz Kitchen draws inspiration from the old Macau shophouses, featuring Portuguese mosaic tiles on the floor and grand wooden archways that pay homage to the city’s maritime history. One of the most striking features is the “Layers of Tradition” wall, displaying a curated collection of blue-and-white ceramic plates adorned with hand-painted motifs inspired by Chinese and Portuguese accents commonly found in Macau.
Adjacent to Andaz Kitchen is Andaz Studio, an inviting space reminiscent of an elegant library, serving daily breakfast and designed as a flexible, multi-function venue that can host events, cocktail receptions, and various social occasions for up to 80 guests. It also offers interactive experiences like master chef cooking classes.
For those seeking relaxation, the intimate Andaz Bar provides a haven for both business and leisure travelers to unwind. Here, guests can enjoy creative cocktails crafted by expert mixologists and sample craft beers produced by a local brewery. The bar’s design pays tribute to Macau’s distinctive European-style architecture, with accents of teal and orange reminiscent of the city’s maritime heritage.
Andaz Macau offers its guests access to a range of recreational amenities, including a heated 62-foot (19-meter) swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, and complimentary access to the Grand Resort Deck at Galaxy Macau, renowned as the world’s premier Skytop oasis.
