Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay has officially opened. The resort features rich cultural heritage of China wrapped in the beauty and grandeur of a tropical paradise.

Steeped in Chinese traditions, feng shui and comprised of historic antique architectural components from Ming and Qing dynastic periods, Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay looks out upon the beautiful golden coastline of the bay toward diver paradise Wuzhizhou Island. Sweeping views of the property encompass swaying palms by the white sand beach.

The Yun River seawater canal winds its way throughout the property creating a calm presence and connecting guests to the elements of water, earth, nature and sky.

Crossing the traditional stone-arch Lounge Bridges leading to the main reception area balances the spirit.  Dongyang wood carvings, cherished as China Intangible Cultural Heritage, which took over two years to complete, adorn walls and ceiling friezes.

Guests may recline on a dragon boat as they glide through lush greenery along the Yun River to visit the Qing-era Wooden Pagoda where daily Tai Chi presentations and zither performances are held. Or on to the Wood Art Gallery, an ancient Jiangnan courtyard-style house originally owned by tycoon Du Yuesheng. The gallery is surrounded by a verdant garden with peaceful fish ponds and showcases Huanghuali furniture and a collection of antique artefacts from both the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.

Dining destinations include Veranda, an interactive all-day dining with a global selection of market-fresh food, highlighting Southeast Asian favorites. La Mesa specializes in flamed-barbequed seafood, fresh-cuts of meat and poultry specialties.

Yuen Court showcases local Hainanese culinary treasures accompanied by delectable Cantonese cuisine.  Ocean Lounge invites guests to relax overlooking a panoramic vista and afternoon tea or evening drinks coupled with tapas at a seaside setting.
