Seven centuries ago, the renowned Italian explorer Marco Polo set out on a voyage to China, driven by his curiosity to explore and understand foreign cultures and traditions. As one of the most distinguished merchants of his time, Marco Polo became a key cultural bridge between Italy and China, fostering an exchange of art, literature, technology, and cuisine that endures to this day.
To celebrate this long-standing cultural dialogue, The Peninsula Hong Kong proudly announces a special festival in collaboration with Mercato Gourmet, Hong Kong’s premier Italian culinary retail brand. This event, running from June 14 to July 31, 2024, at The Peninsula, coincides with the 10th anniversary of Mercato Gourmet, founded by the visionary chef Giandomenico “Gianni” Caprioli.
Supported by the Italian Trade Agency and the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, the festival will highlight the rich culinary traditions connecting Europe and Asia. Guests will enjoy a variety of gastronomic offerings at The Peninsula’s renowned restaurants, including Felix, Sun Terrace, and The Verandah.
On June 14 and 15, 2024, Felix will host an exclusive event featuring the acclaimed Sicilian Chef Riccardo La Perna from the Michelin-starred 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana Macau. Chef La Perna will collaborate with Felix’s Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire to create a luxurious six-course menu showcasing the finest Italian cuisine.
The menu will include Mediterranean delights such as Lightly Cooked Sicilian Gambero Rosso with Burrata Foam and Gambero Rosso Head Emulsion; Italian Oscietra Caviar Tart with Yellow Tail Crudo, Fennel, and Prosecco Beurre Blanc; and Slow Cooked Italian Spring Chicken with Gambero, Tropea Onion, Heads and Wings Jus.
As guests indulge in these culinary masterpieces, they will be serenaded by the exquisite voice of celebrated soprano Phoebe Tam, performing timeless Giacomo Puccini pieces. This musical accompaniment will enhance the dining experience, complemented by Felix’s stunning views over Victoria Harbour.

Mediterranean Alfresco Night at The Sun Terrace
On June 21, 2024, The Peninsula Hong Kong will host a special Mediterranean alfresco dining experience on the expansive Sun Terrace, offering guests an enchanting night under the stars.
This one-night-only event will feature a lavish buffet of Mediterranean specialties, including barbecue-grilled meats and seafood, along with a variety of salads and pasta dishes. The evening will be enhanced by music from a live DJ, creating a perfect ambiance for the occasion.
The Mediterranean Alfresco Night will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. Priced at HKD 2,888* per person, the event includes access to a beverage counter offering a selection of refreshing cocktails and mocktails.
