On 27 January, the renowned Yuewen Global IP Awards were grandly held at Marina Bay Sands, marking the first time the prestigious awards ceremony stepped beyond its national borders. The event, jointly hosted by Yuewen and Marina Bay Sands, celebrated Chinese literature and recognized distinguished Chinese writers, creators, and artists across digital entertainment mediums such as animation, film, TV series, and games.
The gala brought together some of China’s most acclaimed artists and A-list celebrities for one spectacular evening. Among the star-studded lineup were Dylan Wang, Yi Lin, Yuqi Zhang, Churan Wang, Gengxin Lin, Tiger Hu, and homegrown singer Kit Chan.
The event was filled with adrenaline-fueled moments, from a surprise public appearance by all attending artists at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, to their arrival at the glamorous red carpet event held at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, and the grand Yuewen Global IP Awards gala held at Sands Grand Ballroom.
The extravaganza commenced in the afternoon with a surprise public appearance at The Shoppes. Over a thousand fans had gathered to welcome the artists who had specially flown in to attend the awards gala held in Singapore. A total of 15 top Chinese artists were greeted by rousing screams and cheers from their fans as they arrived at the scene.
Highlights from the afternoon included the appearance of Chinese heartthrob Dylan Wang, who stole the show as he ignited fervent screams from his fans when he made his entrance on the runway. Wang rose to fame with his debut lead role as Daoming Si in the Chinese television series Meteor Garden (2018), the remake of popular Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden (2001). He further gained recognition after starring in the Chinese fantasy drama Love Between Fairy and Devil (2022).
In the evening, Marina Bay Sands rolled out the red carpet for a private event, which served as a continuation of the public appearance held earlier. The celebrities and award nominees graced the red carpet in stunning fashion, and paused to sign the autograph wall before exchanging formalities with the event host.
The evening culminated in the grand awards gala held at Sands Grand Ballroom, which saw close to 1,500 audience members in attendance. The gala presented an exciting lineup of performances by legendary Chinese singers Gong Linna, Wang Chao, Tiger Hu, and Ayanga, as well as the award-winning dance troupe O-Dog Kids.
