During New York Fashion Week at BondSt Hudson Yards, the spotlight shone on Dur Doux as they made a significant impression at The Green Show with their Spring/Summer 2024 collection debut, “Sous-Marine.”
The “Sous-Marine” collection for SS 2024, which translates to “Underwater” in English, was a profound exploration of the captivating yet delicate world beneath the ocean’s surface. Hailing from Florida, the Dur Doux design team felt a profound connection to the ocean and a strong sense of responsibility toward its preservation. This collection stood as a testament to their unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
With 34 remarkable looks, each a vibrant representation of underwater beauty, the collection featured a diverse color palette ranging from ombre pinks-reds and ombre greens-whites to salamander, cool beiges-browns, and sea blues. These stunning garments were crafted from eco-friendly textured Italian knits, including Salamander Ibiza knit and the exclusive ‘Brain Coral’ knit, Neptune Coral and Sea Grass mesh, Flamingo crepe and satin, Conch Shell printed cottons, Nudibranch swim knit, and dazzling micro sequins. The collection comprised flowing kaftans, floor-length shirts, skirts, pants, mini and maxi dresses, ruffled bandeaus, bralettes, camis, and marked the debut of one and two-piece sustainable swimwear and beachwear.
The runway looks were meticulously styled by Christine Manthey, complemented by Tejahn Burnett’s exquisite shoe designs, and adorned with exclusive jewelry pieces by Sophie Blake. Dur Doux’s dedication to sustainability was evident in every facet of the collection, with their careful selection of eco-friendly and OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint. This perfectly aligned with The Green Show’s mission of promoting sustainable fashion and lifestyle choices.
The audience at The Green Show was left in awe and admiration by the “Sous-Marine” collection. Dur Doux’s unique blend of style, sustainability, and tribute to the ocean was a visual delight and a poignant reminder of the vital need to protect our planet.
The collaboration between The Green Show and Dur Doux was a testament to the event’s commitment to showcasing designers pushing the boundaries of sustainability and style. Dur Doux’s “Sous-Marine” collection embodied the future of fashion—one that seamlessly combines beauty and a deep sense of responsibility toward the environment.
The event also hosted an after-party where attendees indulged in eleBoost™ Vitamin B12 shots provided by ELEMED™ and relished delectable sushi and cocktails at BondSt Hudson Yards, offering breathtaking views of the Hudson River.
