In the summer of 2024, Disney Cruise Line plans to open Lighthouse Point, an island destination on Eleuthera Island in The Bahamas. The resort is designed in close collaboration with local artists and advisors and offers a unique celebration of Bahamian culture combined with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.
The resort will be a relaxing beach escape with a focus on families, featuring distinctive, colorful architecture inspired by Bahamian shells and adorned with artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna. The resort design has a strong commitment to conservation, with at least 90 percent of its electricity needs being met by solar energy and a pier designed to avoid the need for dredging.
At Lighthouse Point, families can expect a day of adventure and relaxation as they soak up the sun on pristine beaches and participate in various activities suitable for all age groups. The island will feature a family beach with market-style dining and recreation options, as well as a Bahamian art and culture pavilion that offers programs and showcases the traditions of The Bahamas.
A brightly-colored, interactive family water play area, gaming pavilion, volleyball court, gaga ball pit, and nature trails will provide additional recreational options. For adults seeking peace and quiet, there will be an adult-exclusive beach with a dedicated dining area and six private cabanas. Children ages 3 to 12 will have their own themed kids’ club, with a splash pad inspired by characters from “The Little Mermaid.”
Premium family cabanas and new Port Adventures developed in partnership with local tour operators will also be available. Visitors to Lighthouse Point will be surrounded by nature and will have the opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation efforts on the island.
