In this article, we share a curation of ten Opihr creations, each designed to celebrate one of our ten botanicals and the location from which the brand has sourced them from along the Ancient Spice Route. Opihr is the culmination of ten unique botanicals that have been selected from locations along the Ancient Spice Route: from Malaysian cubebs to Moroccan coriander.
Below are the cocktail recipes that you can make with the Opihr Spiced Gin.
Moroccan Mojito – Moroccan Coriander
This quintessential summer serve brings refreshing Moroccan coriander together with tropical pineapple and mint served over crushed ice. The scents remind us of buzzing bars above the Marrakesh souk.
Recipe
- 60ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- 25ml Pineapple Syrup
- 15ml Lime juice
- Sprig of mint leaves
- Sprig coriander leaves
- 50ml Soda water
Method: Build over crushed ice and churn. Top with soda water and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve in a highball glass.
Ophir Turkish Coffee – Turkish Cumin
The sights and smells of the Grand Bazaar in Constantinople are alive in this contemporary coffee cocktail, combining cumin and banana syrup to create a complex and unique serve.
Recipe
- 25ml Ophir Spiced Gin
- 35ml Cumin espresso
- 35ml Creme de banana
- 7.5ml sugar syrup
Method: Shake down and double strain. Serve in a small cocktail glass.
Cumin Espresso
- 2.5g Cumin powder
- 12 table spoons instant coffee (e.g. Nespresso Intenso)
- 500 ml hot water
Combine the ingredients in a jug and stir until thoroughly mixed.
Indian Ginger
The sweet ginger ale complements the heat of the Indian Ginger botanical. For a fiery finish, garnish with chili.

- 50ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- Premium Ginger Ale
- Chili to garnish
Method: Build in the globe glass or Collins glass with ice. Stir down and garnish with a slice of chili.
Spiced Negroni – Spanish Orange Peel
The Spiced Negroni is a classic enhanced by the spiced blend of botanicals within the gin. The addition of the citrus burst from the Spanish orange peel creates an aromatic sensation reminiscent of Spanish summer evenings.
Recipe
- 25ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- 25ml Sweet Vermouth
- 25ml Campari
- Orange peel to garnish
Method: Stir down, serve of ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
Spiced Red Snapper – Malaysian Cubebs
Journey to Malaysia with the Spiced Red Snapper. Use cubeb peppers from Malacca to add a fiery kick to an exceptional flavor combination.
Recipe
- 50ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- Tomato juice
- 4 dashes Worcester sauce
- 3 dashes Tobasco
- Lemon juice
- Pinch of sale and pepper (cubebs if available)
Method: Build in Collins (or similar glass) with ice. Stir down and squeeze over lemon. Season with salt and pepper.
Grapefruit Pritz – Turkish Grapefruit
A Turkish Delight in all but name, with rosemary syrup and grapefruit soda to balance the spice from the gin. It’s light and herby, a perfect start to an evening.

- 35ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- 15ml Rosemary syrup
- 50 ml Pink grapefruit soda
- 50ml Sparkling wine
Grapefruit wedge to garnish
Method: Build in a wine glass with ice and churn. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
Spiced Gin Sour – Indian Cardamon
A twist on a classic incorporates cardamon syrup to create an explosion of flavor, evocative of rickshaw journeys through Indian summers.
Recipe
- 35ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- 35ml Coconut water
- 5ml Cardamon syrup
- 5ml Runny honey
- 15ml Lemon juice
Method: Shake down with ice and double strain into a chilled coupe.
Spiced Clover Club
Indian Tellicherry Black Pepper
A classic cocktail intensified by the addition of Indian black pepper, giving the traditionally sweet and sour drink an edge of heat.
Recipe
- 50 ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- 12.5 ml Raspberry syrup
- 12.5 ml Lemon juice
- 25ml Egg white (or vegan foamer)
- 3 dashes black pepper tincture
Method: Dry shake. Add ice and shake to chill. Double strain into a coupe glass.
Spiced Mulled Punch – German Angelica
This comforting warm blend of Ophir Spiced Gin, sharp apple cider and earthy beetroot, topped with sweet candied German Angelica, is reminiscent of cold European nights in the mountains.
Recipe
- 25ml Ophir Spiced Gin
- 35ml Sweet cider
- 15ml Beetroot juice
- 5ml Lemon juice
- 5ml Runny honey
- 3g Sliced ginger
- 20ml Filtered water
Method: Brew all the liquid ingredients together and bring up to temperature (60°C). Serve in glass tea cup. Garnish with an orange wedge and candied Angelica root.
Aromatic Opihr – Italian Juniper
A refreshing yet spicy aromatic serve. Enhanced with Juniper essential oil, adding a savory kick that complements the sweet aromatic tonic.
Recipe
- 50ml Opihr Spiced Gin
- Aromatic tonic water
- Optional: Juniper essential oil
- Grapefruit peel to garnish
Method: Build in the globe glass (or a Collins glass) with ice. Stir down and garnish with grapefruit peel. If using the essential oil, add a couple of droplets to the glass with the ice and stir down before building with the remaining ingredients.
