Chef Chanthy Yen, recently crowned Canada’s top chef on the country’s most popular TV culinary show, will prepare a series of exclusive meals at two Raffles luxury heritage hotels in Cambodia this March.
Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, with Cambodian roots, Yen secured top honors on Food Network Canada’s 11th season of Top Chef Canada in December. His culinary experience includes serving as a personal chef for the Canadian prime minister and leading the kitchen at a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant in Vancouver.
A special dinner menu and cooking class will be offered at Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap from March 14-16, followed by exclusive dinners and lunches at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh from March 19-21.
At Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, Yen will present a 5-course tasting menu ($90++) at the hotel’s award-winning 1932 restaurant on March 14 and 15. Additionally, a 4-course cooking class ($85++) will take place on March 16 at Raffles Marquee.
At Raffles Hotel Le Royal, a 5-course set dinner ($82++) and a 3-course set lunch ($36++) will be available, with optional wine pairings starting at $32++. Dinner will be served from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., while lunch will be available from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the hotel’s acclaimed Restaurant Le Royal.
Yen’s culinary style reflects his Cambodian heritage, infused with diverse international influences gained through mentorships with renowned chefs such as Ferran Adrià and Andoni Luis Aduriz. His approach emphasizes purposeful cuisine, blending bold, aromatic flavors with refined, modern techniques—reinterpreting Cambodian staples with a Canadian touch or plant-based innovations.
