Asia Fashion Collection Celebrates a Successful 12th Annual NYFW Showcase

The Asia Fashion Collection (AFC) successfully concluded its 12th annual New York Fashion Week event, where five rising brands from across Asia unveiled their FW25 collections. After months of preparation and a competitive selection process in Tokyo, the finalists took to the NYFW runway, marking a pivotal moment in their design careers.

Representing Japan, LITTLE BEDROOM by Sora Komatsu of Vantan Design Institute captivated the audience with its fusion of streetwear and geek culture. YOUSUKE HAGA, the namesake label of Osaka Bunka Fashion College’s Yousuke Haga, showcased a collection that embraced solitude and self-expression through experimental textiles and decadent design. Meanwhile, BILL BILL, created by Kouki Sera and Kotaro Kawamura of Bunka Fashion College, presented Colorless Bible, a striking all-white collection inspired by childhood cartoons and the idea of reinterpreting rigid societal norms.

South Korea’s MEG KIM, founded by Jieun Kim, a graduate of Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion, delivered Run Wild, a collection that reimagined romantic masculinity through workwear-inspired tailoring and vintage elements. Taiwan’s PCES, led by Yu Chi Lee, Chih Yun Chang, and Bruno Hayon Chung, offered a thought-provoking exploration of the cycle of life and death, blending traditional and modern design techniques to emphasize rebirth and transformation.

Each collection brought a unique perspective to the runway, demonstrating the depth of creativity and innovation emerging from Asia’s fashion scene. With strong concepts, technical prowess, and a fearless approach to design, these five brands made a memorable impact at NYFW, solidifying their place as designers to watch in the global fashion industry.
