Located in Provence’s Var region between Lorgues and Flayosc, the five-star Château de Berne is part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection. The estate reopens on March 7, 2025, beginning a new season dedicated to excellence and elegance.

Château de Berne is a well-known wine tourism destination where guests can experience the relaxed Provençal lifestyle. Spanning 1,270 acres of unspoiled countryside, including 370 acres of organic vineyards, the estate offers a perfect blend of luxury, local culture, and expert craftsmanship.

The château features 34 carefully decorated rooms and suites that reflect the rich heritage of Provence. Natural materials, warm colors, and thoughtful details create a relaxing and authentic atmosphere. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of rolling hills and vineyards, providing a sense of peace and timeless beauty.

The estate has three swimming pools: two outdoor pools and one indoor pool. Each pool area is designed for relaxation, enhanced by Provence’s pleasant Mediterranean climate. The traditional French gardens (known as “jardins à la française”) invite visitors to stroll through shaded walkways filled with the calming scent of lavender.

The estate’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Jardin de Berne, celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients under the guidance of Chef Louis Rameau and Pastry Chef Éric Raynal. Many ingredients are sourced directly from the estate’s large vegetable gardens. The property also produces its own signature olive oil, known for its smooth, fresh flavor.

Chef Rameau’s signature dishes include red mullet fillet with wild fennel espuma and roasted pigeon with Mediterranean herbs. These dishes highlight authentic flavors with a creative yet refined touch.

For a special dining experience, guests can enjoy exclusive options like the Table du Pass or the Salon des Vignes. The Table du Pass allows two guests to dine directly at the kitchen counter, observing the chefs at work. The Salon des Vignes offers a private meal overlooking the vineyards, where Chef Rameau personally guides the experience.

Pastry Chef Éric Raynal, celebrated for his creative desserts, uses ingredients from the estate and even grows rare citrus fruits to enhance his recipes. His signature dish includes dark chocolate bark paired with whisky-infused Orelys ice cream. In 2020, he was honored in the Michelin Guide’s “Passion Dessert” selection for his exceptional creations.

The estate’s bistro, Le Bistrot, holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand award and offers traditional Provençal cuisine led by Aurélie Liautaud. Meanwhile, L’Olivier de Berne presents Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a casual and inviting setting with a spacious terrace overlooking the vineyards.

The organic vineyard, overseen by expert winemaker Alexis Cornu, produces wines that reflect the unique character of the region. The estate’s iconic square bottle, inspired by the château’s 18th-century towers, has become a symbol of the brand’s elegance and creativity. The wines include rosé, red, and white varieties, each showcasing the rich flavors of Provence.

Château de Berne also provides a beautiful setting for weddings, seminars, and exclusive events. The venue can host up to 120 guests, combining personalized service, refined dining, and the beauty of the natural surroundings. The estate’s team manages every detail to ensure unforgettable moments filled with elegance and warmth.
