The Sony World Photography Awards has announced the winners of the 2025 National & Regional Awards, recognizing outstanding photography from around the world.

This awards program, created by Sony and Creo as part of the World Photography Organisation, supports local photography communities in 56 countries. This year, the competition received over 419,000 image submissions from photographers across more than 200 countries and territories.

The National & Regional Award winners were chosen from the Open competition, which highlights the best single images taken in the past year. Each winner will receive Sony digital imaging equipment and have their work showcased in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and book.

In this photograph, a group of freedivers skilfully defy gravity, suspended upside down beneath a boat in clear water. Their silhouettes create a mesmerising scene that is reminiscent of the ‘Spider-Verse’; their forms seem to dance in harmony with the underwater world, blending the artistry of human movement with the fluidity of aquatic life.

This is a breathtaking winter view of Uhwajeong Pavilion, in Naejangsan National Park, South Korea. The snow-covered landscape transforms the scene into a tranquil masterpiece reminiscent of a traditional Korean ink wash painting, created using shades of ink without adding colours. The hills and the serene lake create a harmonious balance, showing the beauty of Korea’s natural wonders.
