Hoshino Resorts BANTA CAFE, an oceanside destination known for its breathtaking views and unique ambiance, will host the “Illumi Banta: Seaside Night Lights” event from December 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025. This seasonal celebration will feature stunning illuminations that enhance the natural beauty of Okinawa’s seaside, including the sea, cliffs, and surrounding greenery. Visitors can experience the glowing artistry of Ryukyu glass lanterns, sustainable designs inspired by traditional Okinawan crafts, and enjoy a serene evening filled with culture, gastronomy, and scenic landscapes.
Event Highlights:
- Illuminated Natural Beauty: The sea, cliffs, and tropical forest will be lit with soft lights, creating a magical atmosphere.
- Traditional Okinawan Crafts: Lampshades made from woven grass (Mani and Kuba leaves) and upcycled Ryukyu glass lanterns will decorate the Seaside Terrace and beach.
- Cultural Experiences: Weekly events such as the Night Light Marché featuring local artisans and Uchinaa Jazz Live, showcasing Okinawa’s jazz heritage, will be held every Saturday.
- Seasonal Gourmet Menus: Limited offerings like the Night Picnic Set with gourmet onigiri and the Umanchu Grill Dinner at OLU Grill will provide culinary delights amidst scenic views.
Sustainability Efforts:
Okinawa’s history of cherishing resources is reflected in the event’s collaboration with a local glass workshop. Over 400 soda bottles have been upcycled to create lanterns inspired by fishing floats, combining functionality with eco-conscious artistry.
