At Tesla’s “We, Robot” event in Los Angeles, the company introduced two new autonomous vehicles: the Cybercab, a driverless taxi, and the Robovan, an electric bus capable of transporting passengers or cargo. While the event primarily focused on the Cybercab, the unexpected reveal of the Robovan drew significant attention.

The Cybercab, a two-seater autonomous vehicle, was presented with a projected price of under $30,000 and plans for wireless charging. Tesla stated that the vehicle would be designed without a steering wheel or pedals and suggested that it could be operational by 2027. The company also noted that it intended to launch autonomous driving in select regions next year, starting with existing models in Texas and California.

The Robovan, designed to carry up to 20 people, was introduced as a versatile vehicle that could also be converted for cargo transport. No specific pricing or release details were provided for this bus.

Tesla also showcased its humanoid robot, Optimus, during the event. While it was suggested that the robot could perform various tasks, no clear timeline for its availability was given.
