Mattel, Inc., in partnership with Outright Games, a leading publisher of family-friendly interactive entertainment, has announced the first all-console and PC video game inspired by the Matchbox™ die-cast collectible toy brand. Developed by Casual Brothers, Matchbox Driving Adventures will launch on September 20, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Matchbox Driving Adventures allows players to unlock, customize, and race digital versions of their favorite Matchbox vehicles. Players can race solo or with up to four friends in local multiplayer, embarking on exciting missions across six unique environments. Each environment offers multiple track variations, providing numerous opportunities for thrilling races.
The game features two distinct modes to suit different play styles. In Adventure Mode, players can explore Matchbox Adventure Island at their leisure, solving puzzles and helping its inhabitants within a rich, evolving landscape. Competition Mode, on the other hand, offers a more intense experience with a series of varied tracks where players can compete for an exhilarating racing challenge.
Matchbox Driving Adventures promises an engaging experience that honors the rich legacy of the Matchbox brand, appealing to both new and longtime fans. Players will be able to:
- Customize and race 12 original Matchbox vehicles
- Explore six unique environments and race on 14 different tracks with various variations
- Complete over 30 quests in Adventure Mode
- Compete with up to four players in local multiplayer in Competition Mode
