Kim Jones, the Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear at Fendi, enlisted composer Max Richter to create the soundtrack for this season’s haute couture show, centered around the theme of “precision and emotion.” Drawing inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld’s futuristic vision for Fendi, Jones explores the humanistic elements within this future perspective. The collection emphasizes the interplay between structure and decoration, where the two seamlessly merge.
Shimmering constructions brought the Fendi Couture silhouettes to life, seemingly dancing across water. The runway showcased a novel “Scatola” (“box”) silhouette, featuring geometric pattern cutting at both the beginning and end of the show. The entire collection incorporated supple crocodile materials, with embroideries resembling a second skin, highlighting every movement with meticulous precision. Feather-like fringe added a touch of ultra-light fluidity to the silhouettes, and transparency fused the body with the garments.
The “Shibari” tops discreetly revealed the beauty of busts, while dresses crafted from cashmere and vicuna followed the natural curves of the wearer. The color palette transitioned from darkness to light, concluding with radiant shimmering silver. Delfina Delettrez Fendi, the Artistic Director of Jewelry at Fendi, designed precious accessories that complemented the looks.
The new Singular Vision fine eyewear, crafted through custom facial scans, featured 18k white gold and white diamonds, illuminating faces. Baguette bags, designed by Silva Venturini Fendi, the Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear at Fendi, mirrored the clothing materials, ranging from crocodile to embroideries. The debut of Fendi Gems Baguette bags on the runway and a captivating Mini Baguette bag, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship with a diamond-pave-encrusted buckle, added to the visual allure.
