At the 2023 Bloomberg New Economy Forum (the Forum) in Singapore from November 8 to 10, Hyundai Motor Group, in conjunction with its AAM company, Supernal, is unveiling its vision for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).

Founded in 2018 with Hyundai Motor Group as one of its pioneering partners, the Forum draws over 400 of the world’s most influential CEOs, leaders, visionaries, scientists, entrepreneurs, and policymakers. The event’s primary objective is to address pressing global challenges, with discussions broadcast globally. Hosted by Michael R. Bloomberg, the sixth annual Forum revolves around the theme ‘Embracing Instability.’

Hyundai Motor Group’s central theme for its participation is ‘Hyundai Accelerates the New Economy through its Smart Mobility Solutions.’ To support this theme, the Group will engage in a plenary session on November 9, titled ‘Getting from Point A to Point B in 2033.’ Jaiwon Shin, President of AAM Division at Hyundai Motor Group and CEO of Supernal, will be among the panelists.

Supernal, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, is a U.S.-based mobility service provider dedicated to redefining how people move, connect, and live. The company is actively developing an Advanced Air Mobility eVTOL vehicle and is committed to responsibly co-creating the supporting ecosystem and integrating it into existing transit options. Supernal plans to leverage the Group’s rich automotive manufacturing legacy to make Advanced Air Mobility accessible to a wide audience.

Through the plenary session, Hyundai Motor Group aims to underscore the significance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable and transformative mobility innovations, particularly when coupled with advancements in energy, grid, and infrastructure. The Group will emphasize how innovations in solid-state batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, autonomous driving, and other technologies are shaping the evolution of AAM. As part of this discussion, the Group will present its AAM vision for electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles (eVTOL/’electric air taxis’) as a dependable and secure option for everyday transportation needs.

Since its inception, Supernal has been collaborating with a diverse range of private and public partners to develop the AAM ecosystem while simultaneously working on its in-house designed aircraft, scheduled for AAM commercialization in 2028. In line with these ongoing efforts, Supernal is set to unveil its latest eVTOL vehicle concept at CES in January 2024.
