On June 1st, CHANEL presented its 022-23 Métiers d’Art Collection in Tokyo. The term “Métiers d’Art,” which translates to “artistic handwork” in French, served as the inspiration for this annual collection, paying homage to the extraordinary craftsmanship of artisans collaborating with Chanel and other esteemed fashion houses.
The event aimed to honor Tokyo’s thriving art scene and establish a new connection, inviting viewers into an exclusive realm through its artistic dialogue.
The runway became a stage for designs that captured the essence of the 1970s, skillfully reimagined by Chanel’s Artistic Director, Virginie Viard, in collaboration with talented artisans.
Every detail was meticulously crafted to showcase the rich colors that adorned the ensembles. Vibrant hues of orange and pink intersected with an exquisite tapestry of meticulously embroidered beads and sequins, creating a dazzling visual spectacle.
The collection featured an array of stunning outfits, each carefully composed to embody the spirit of the era. Tweed jackets with their textured elegance were flawlessly paired with flared pants, showcasing a nostalgic yet contemporary aesthetic.
Dresses, adorned with meticulously crafted blossoms in full bloom, evoked a sense of timeless beauty, capturing the essence of the natural world in a celebration of artistry and design.
