An exclusive partnership between The Peninsula and The World of Peter Rabbit™ has been announced through a licensed agreement with Penguin Ventures on behalf of brand owner Frederick Warne & Co. (now part of Penguin Random House Children’s). In celebration of the Year of the Rabbit and more than 120 years after his creation by renowned British author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, the iconic Peter Rabbit will be featured in special themed Afternoon Tea menus, stay packages, and gifts at The Peninsula. This collaboration will provide guests and their families with an unforgettable experience throughout the year.
Starting from March 15, 2023, the partnership will launch with a variety of celebratory offerings at different Peninsula hotels across the globe. These offerings include a range of co-branded merchandise, exquisitely designed with illustrations of The Peninsula’s Pen Bear mascot alongside Peter Rabbit. Limited-edition apparel, children’s toys, and décor featuring the two cherished characters in iconic Peninsula settings will be available for purchase at participating hotels. These settings include the characters enjoying Afternoon Tea in a Lobby restaurant, reading in an elegant Peninsula guestroom, greeting new arrivals in front of various Peninsula hotel entrances, and encouraging sustainability and appreciation for nature by watering flowers in a blooming Peninsula Garden. Notably, these designs will mark the first time Pen Bear has shared the global spotlight with another beloved children’s character.
To celebrate the launch of the Peter Rabbit partnership at The Peninsula, guests can enjoy a special Peter-Rabbit-themed Afternoon Tea at six Peninsula properties around the world from March 15 to December 31, 2023. The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Shanghai, The Peninsula Beijing, The Peninsula Tokyo, The Peninsula Chicago, and The Peninsula New York will feature a menu of quintessential dishes inspired by Mr. McGregor’s Garden and the Lake District, such as Battenburg cake with blackberries, Morecambe Bay shrimp, and brown crab-and-radish sandwiches. Festive, destination-specific, and Peter Rabbit-themed décor will adorn the hotels’ signature Lobby restaurants where the Afternoon Tea will be served. Children will receive special coloring books featuring Peter Rabbit and Pen Bear as gifts.
Starting from the end of March, guests at The Peninsula hotels worldwide can indulge in custom-crafted Peter Rabbit chocolates while supplies last. A milk chocolate statue of Peter Rabbit and Pen Bear will be offered as an in-room amenity for all guests, and assorted hand-dipped chocolates packaged in Peter Rabbit-and-Pen Bear-embellished gift boxes will be available for purchase during the partnership period in Peninsula Boutiques.
Exclusive, limited-edition Peter Rabbit merchandise will also be available at The Peninsula Boutique worldwide from March to December 31. Classic children’s items, such as plush Peter Rabbit and Pen Bear toys, will be among the products available.
Families with children can book a special Peter Rabbit-themed package at The Peninsula New York, The Peninsula Chicago, The Peninsula Tokyo, and The Peninsula Beijing during the promotion period. This package includes accommodations in a luxuriously appointed Peninsula room or suite, daily breakfast, deluxe embroidered bathrobes and slippers featuring Peter Rabbit and Pen Bear for both adults and children to enjoy as in-room amenities, Peter Rabbit and Pen Bear chocolate in-room amenities, and opportunities to enjoy Peter Rabbit-themed experiences such as nature walks, storytelling, and visits with Peter and Pen Bear.
