In 2002, OMEGA introduced the original “Aqua Terra” collection, which was a bold range of timepieces that honored the brand’s ocean heritage and the spirit of the iconic Seamaster watches. The Latin name of the collection reflected the watches’ reliability both on water (Aqua) and on land (Terra). The collection’s first models were a combination of style and innovation that easily suited an active lifestyle. Despite the challenge of blending city chic with ocean ingenuity, the collection has endured for over 20 years and has become one of the most unique and popular timepiece choices. Today, the Aqua Terra collection is recognized for its laid-back style, anti-magnetic legacy, and precision. With the launch of the “Shades” models, the collection is infused with color, and as expected, certified by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer.
The Aqua Terra Shades collection from OMEGA takes their watchmaking in a new direction with a range of vibrant dial shades. It provides an opportunity for individuals to express their style through a diverse array of colors. The collection draws inspiration from nature, following the spectrum from ocean to earth and offering unique tones like Atlantic Blue, Lagoon Green, and Terracotta. The collection is available in two different sizes, 38 mm and 34 mm, and features entirely polished stainless steel cases. Each watch is presented with a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. Additionally, the collection includes two 18K gold models that add a touch of luxury. These timepieces are crafted in OMEGA’s long-lasting alloys, accentuating the collection’s vibrant spirit with their golden hues.
The dials of the Shades collection are made of brass and sun-brushed from the center before being coated with a layer of lacquer to add depth. However, the true beauty of these dials lies in their unique colors, made possible by recent technological advancements. OMEGA has employed Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technologies to create distinct hues such as Terracotta and Sea Blue.
The 34 mm range features sailboat hull-shaped indexes and 18K white gold hands, while the 38 mm models have traditional rhodium-plated hands and indexes. The watches retain the Aqua Terra’s characteristic symmetrical, fully polished stainless steel cases and crowns with a wave-edged design on the back. Each timepiece is equipped with OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800, which has passed stringent quality, precision, and magnetic resistance tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
The Aqua Terra watches are presented with stainless steel bracelets that have smaller, rounded links for a modern look. The 38 mm option is crafted from OMEGA’s 18K SednaTM Gold, known for its warm tones and resistance to fading. The watch boasts a sun-brushed and lacquered CVD-treated sandstone-colored dial with sailboat indexes, grey-colored transfers, and an applied circular date window in 18K SednaTM Gold. The bezel is paved with 46 diamonds totaling 1.77 ct, and the watch is secured with an 18K SednaTM Gold bracelet and butterfly clasp. It is powered by OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8801.
