The Peninsula New York has temporarily transformed its Salon de Ning rooftop bar into an exotic East-meets-West style outpost in honor of the opening of its new sister property, The Peninsula Istanbul. From now until March 31, 2023, visitors to the Fifth Avenue property can experience the flavors and ambiance of Turkey.
The hotel drew inspiration from ornate traditional Ottoman tents to reimagine the two rooftop domes that have long made Salon de Ning a fashionable wintertime destination. Guests can now enjoy the domes draped in richly colored fabrics, Turkish velvet, intricately patterned throws, and vintage kilim rugs. The seating areas are adorned with plush cushions, while hand-hammered copper lanterns and an oversized perforated pendant cast intricate shadows around the space.
To complement the stunning new decor, Salon de Ning has introduced a menu of authentic Turkish dishes and Türkiye-inspired drinks. Guests can savor traditional mezze such as dolmas and haydari, as well as creative cocktails like the Turkish Blossom and the Turkish Coffee Martini.
Overnight guests at The Peninsula New York can also indulge in Turkish cuisine through a selection of Turkish breakfast dishes served at Clement restaurant and baked baklava delivered as an in-room amenity.
