Antipodal has added the Tierra Hotels collection, which includes Tierra Atacama, Tierra Chiloé and Tierra Patagonia, to its portfolio of high-end travel experiences. The Tierra hotels offer guests a chance to experience some of the most stunning natural landscapes in Chile, combined with world-class art, architecture, design and hospitality.
Tierra Atacama opened in 2008 and was the first hotel in the Tierra collection. Tierra Patagonia, located on the shores of Lake Sarmiento with views of the Torres del Paine National Park, opened in 2012. And in 2017, Tierra Chiloé was established following the expansion of the former Refugia on the large island of Chiloé.
Tierra Atacama, a property of the Tierra Hotels collection, offers a unique and serene experience in the heart of the northern desert near San Pedro de Atacama. With its 32 peaceful suites, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the desert and the stunning Licancabur Volcano. The hotel offers a variety of activities such as horseback riding, volcano hiking, and visits to the salt flats and hot springs. Tierra Chiloé, situated on the remote southern island of Chiloé and about two hours away by plane from Santiago, offers a breathtaking architectural experience to its guests. Overlooking lush pastures and breathtaking coastline, this mountain lodge boasts roaring fireplaces, comfortable wool blankets, an infinity edge pool and the Uma Spa. Visitors can engage in a variety of activities, including a trek through the woodlands, a visit to a local farming community to explore their produce markets, and an afternoon cruise on the lodge’s popular wooden boat, the “Williche”. The day can be ended with a relaxing pisco sour cocktail hour.
Tierra Patagonia is a stunning lodge located in southern Chile, near Puerto Natales. It is set in a vast landscape with breathtaking views of the towering Torres del Paine mountain range. The lodge is designed to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, with a 650-foot long structure made of earth and lenga beechwood. The contemporary guest suites are stylishly furnished with natural materials such as wood, wool and leather, and feature works by local artisans. Guests can enjoy a wide range of guided excursions in and around the Torres del Paine National Park, including hiking, biking, horseback riding, and sailing on a thrilling glacier expedition.
