Cartier has opened a new boutique in Amsterdam in a new location on the P.C. Hooftstraat. The boutique showcases an open window to a world of style and timeless design, inspired by the unique atmosphere of Amsterdam and Cartier’s cherished heritage. A perfect reflection of Cartier’s distinctive blend of tradition and innovation.
The retail space has been designed by Paris-based architecture and design practice Studio Parisien, and in compliance with the luxury brand’s forward ecological stance, it has a LEED certification. The lofty ground floor is an oasis of elegance, framed by inlaid marble flooring and cream plaster walls. Organic-shaped columns by Atelier Tollis, which have been colored as a reinterpretation of the bricks that define Amsterdam, punctuate the space.
In the back, a colorful wall paneling pattern refers to De Stijl, influenced by artist Piet Mondriaan and his use of primary colors. Sustainable French oak parquet flooring subtly shows a pattern based on those in artist Johannes Vermeer‘s artwork. A staircase adorned by a mural with a panther motif, an iconic Cartier symbol.
