Clayton Hotel – Bristol (2022) – The former Edward Everard printworks in Broad Street, an impressive example of Art Nouveau architecture and one of Bristol’s most distinctive buildings, is to become a four-star Clayton Hotel courtesy of the Dalata group. Built around 1900, the printworks closed in 1967, and later became part of a complex of offices built by Natwest bank – only the original façade remains. It is said that William Morris had some of his wallpapers and textiles printed here, including his familiar Strawberry Thief design. The new hotel will provide 255 rooms and a restaurant as part of a mixed-use development in the heart of the city. The building’s exuberant, Doulton-tiled exterior – Grade II* listed – will form the entrance to the hotel which is expected to open in 2022.

The listed building and former private members’ club on Edinburgh’s central street will be respectfully renovated, with support from local artisans and suppliers in the region.

W Edinburgh – Edinburgh (2023) – Another first! W Edinburgh will make its debut in Scotland. Situated in the city’s exciting new culture and business hub the St James Quarter, the hotel will offer 214 stylish guest rooms. The rooftop will feature a popular destination bar and outdoor terrace, offering guests and locals 360-degree panoramic views of the Scottish capital’s historic skyline.

The Albion Aberteifi, Wales (2022) – Cult campsite Fforest in West Wales has redefined the family camping holiday since it opened in 2007, with traditional Welsh crog lofts and wood-fired pizzas, its own tiny stone pub – the smallest in Wales – and a wooden cedar-barrel sauna. Now, it is opening a 23-room hotel on the banks of the River Teifi. The hotel, set in two former warehouses, lands between Fforest’s two campsites, one on a 200-acre farm bordering a nature reserve, and the other, smaller, location overlooking Penbryn Beach. Design will draw on the town’s maritime history (the Albion ship took a group of emigrants to New Brunswick in 1819) preserving some 19th-century graffiti of tall ships on the lime-washed walls of the third floor.
