Today, OMEGA introduces the new Speedmaster Chronoscope Collection; a mixture of vintage design cues with modern specifications. The word Chronoscope blends two traditional Greek expressions, “chronos” meaning time and “scope” meaning to observe. The tool, typically used to measure the brief duration between two points or events is represented beautifully in OMEGA’s new 43mm Chronoscope.
The new Chronoscope collection consists of six 43mm models in polished-brushed stainless steel: two with silvery dials and blue hands; two with blue dials and rhodium-plated hands; and two with silvery dials and black subdials (OMEGA’s famous “Panda” dial) with blackened hands. Visible through the sapphire crystal on the caseback is a manual-winding OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908 with a beautiful finish. A standout feature is the design of the Chronoscope bridge. Geneva waves in arabesque, that start from the balance wheel instead of the center of the movement – a first for OMEGA.
A seventh iteration is presented on OMEGA’s exclusive Bronze Gold, a bronze dial and opaline silvery subdials. Bronze Gold is one-of-a-kind alloy enriched with noble elements such as 37.5% gold as well as palladium and silver. The watch features oxidized bronze dial with special patina finish and opaline silvery subdials. The polished brown ceramic bezel ring is with a tachymeter scale in “vintage” enamel, another design first for the brand. Other features include the leaf-shaped hands and Arabic numerals with bronze Gold PVD coating and brown leather strap with polished-sandblasted bronze Gold buckle.
