Maritim Resort Marina Bay is scheduled to open in May

Maritim is scheduled to open its second hotel in Albania on May 1, 2021.  The new Maritim Resort Marina Bay is located in the town of Vlora in southern Albania, on the edge of a bay with a view of the Adriatic.  Surrounded by beaches, the town off Sazan Island and the Karaburun Peninsula is characterized by crystal-clear, turquoise waters with underground springs.  

The airport “Nënë Tereza” is located in Albania’s capital Tirana and is about 150 km or a 2-hour drive from the hotel. An alternative way to get there is by ferry, as Vlora is only about 90 km from Italy. There are regular ferry connections from the city of Brindisi in Italy directly to Vlora or to Durrës.  Guests can also arrive by helicopter thanks to the hotel’s helipad.

The property was built in 2018 and has recently been extended to offer 93 rooms and suites. All suites have a sea view and a balcony of at least 10 sqm.  Amenities include private access to the pebble beach and four hotel-owned pools.  The four pools include an indoor pool, a children’s pool and two infinity pools. There is also the spa centre, a barbecue area and a private jetty at the hotel.  The hotel also offers further possibilities for an active day by booking various tours. For example, you can visit the ruins of Apollonia in the Fier region or go hiking at Lake Grama in the Korab Mountains.

Dining options include two restaurants and five bars.  The Mandarine Restaurant offers both breakfast and dinner. While the Mandarine Restaurant offers à la carte dining, there is also a separate buffet restaurant.  In the rooftop bar,  the Lime Lounge Cocktail Bar offers view over the Adriatic Sea.  There is also a lobby bar and three pool and cocktail bars.

Vlora itself also has a lot to offer.  Vajana beach, which is 2.6 km from the hotel.  Other historical and ethnographic museums and the Petro Marko Theatre form the cultural centre of Vlora. Worth seeing are the Ottoman Muradije Mosque, the lagoon of Narta with its Orthodox monastery, the castle of Kanina and the beach promenade Lungo Mare. And these are only the highlights on land. The underwater world is also particularly spectacular, which you can discover with scuba diving directly at the hotel. Those who prefer to stay above the water benefit from the hotel’s own boat mooring.
