OMEGA revealed a glimpse at some of the exclusive designs, materials and upgrades for Seamaster collection, Constellation Small Seconds, and De Ville Trésor from 2021 Collection.
Seamaster Aqua Terra
2021 Seamaster Aqua Terra timepieces feature hour markers in diamonds and rubies. The new 34 mm models are made stainless steel and 18K Sedna gold, featuring a symmetrical polished-brushed case body, a polished bezel set with diamonds, central hour-minute and seconds hands in diamond-polished 18K Sedna gold, and a date window at 6H. The latest models include wave-embossed dials reminiscent the gentle rippling surface of the ocean. The timepiece is available in either a nude dial encircled with 11 marquise-cut diamonds hour markers or a pale pink dial with 11 marquise-cut ruby hour-markers.
On the 2021 models, the screw-in caseback is polished-brushed with a wave-edged design, engraved with “AQUA TERRA” and the watch’s water resistance. The flat sapphire crystal on the caseback allows a clear view of OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800.
Seamaster 300
In 1957, the Seamaster 300 was launched as a part of the Professional Trilogy. The timepiece was also the first diver’s watch, represented as one of the famous watches in underwater history. The design was known for its black dial, luminous indexes and large hands. The watch also introduced OMEGA’s first diving bezel, built with a special safety feature to prevent accidental turning during dives. Now in 2021, the latest collection of models have a brand new Master Chronometer upgrade and will be thinner than previous versions thanks to the new sapphire glass. This thinner look is enhanced by the addition of a new conical crown at the side of the case. The slim inner frame has given the dial a larger display, with an opening of 30.4 mm, as opposed to the previous 29.5 mm.
The Seamaster 300 bracelets are in stainless steel and has been ergonomically adjusted with streamlined fittings and a thinner, polished-brushed clasp. On the leather straps, a new buckle has also been included. The caseback includes a wave-edge design, as well as sapphire crystal that offers a view of the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912. One of the most noticeable changes can be found on the new dials. OMEGA has utilized a sandwich concept, including a base layer with Super-LumiNova and a second plate over the top with cuttings for the recessed hour markers and numerals. These numerals are in the vintage Arabis open style that appeared on early Seamaster 300 models in the 1960s.
The Bronze Gold Model of Seamaster 300
This year’s new Seamaster 300 collection will include a 41 mm model crafted from OMEGA’s Bronze Gold. Used for the entire case and buckle, the alloy made of 37.5% gold, hallmarked as 9K, as well as palladium and silver. The bezel ring has been created in brown ceramic with a diving scale in vintage Super-LumiNova.
Constellation Small Seconds
For 2021, OMEGA is adding a new range of Small Seconds models to the Constellation collection. The watches with a new 34 mm size, will be available in 18K Sedna gold, stainless, or a combination of both. On top of each case, the bezels feature engraved Roman Numerals, or a circle of 38 full-cut diamonds. A special symmetry has been given to the new Small Seconds watches. Along with a round date window at 6H, OMEGA has used incremental diamonds for the hour markers, which have been placed in 18K gold holders, and arranged by size around the dial. Furthermore, OMEGA has added rings for the Small Seconds subdial, as well as the Central Minute Track. On some models, these rings are presented in 18K Sedna gold with the addition of delicate single-cut diamonds.
While some of these Small Seconds timepieces will be set on the leather straps to match the dials, the full metal versions will include the Constellation’s legendary mono-rang bracelets. Featuring brushed links with polished central bars, the bracelets also have a butterfly clasp and adjustment. The new collection also features dials in sun-brushed burgundy. On the inside, the watches are driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8802 / 8803.
De Ville Trésor Power Reserve
OMEGA’s first use of the “Trésor ” name appeared in 1949. At that time, it referred to the “treasure” found inside the watch – the legendary 30 mm calibre.
This year, the collection presents a variety of models with a new subdial display and a diverse range of colors and materials. The full Trésor collection includes 40 mm watches in a range of materials, including those in stainless steel. The first models revealed from the brand feature polished cases bezels in 18K yellow gold and 18K Sedna gold. The cases are presented on leather straps with polished buckles, while sapphire crystal is used on both sides of the watch. The 18K yellow gold model features a grey leather strap, and a domed crystal silvery dial with polished hands and applied domed indexes, while the 18K Sedna gold model features a domed burgundy lacquered dial and burgundy leather strap.
Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black
In 2021, the new model features contrasting shades of black. The 43.5 mm polished-brushed case in black ceramic is fixed to the wrist by an integrated black rubber strap with a buckle in the same material as the case. In addition, OMEGA’s watchmakers also created black ceramic versions of the crown and helium escape valve.
To ensure visibility without spoiling the Diver’s overall aesthetic, OMEGA has introduced anthracite Super-LumiNova to the diving scale, the black PVD indexes and skeleton hands, and dot at 12H. Although these essential markers all glow in different colors in the dark, the anthracite turns them dark-grey in daylight. Adding some light to the darkness is a window with a clear view of the movement. The caseback is in polished-brushed black ceramic, and has a sapphire crystal glass. The OMEGA’s patented “NAJAD LOCK” with wave-edged design has been metallized with “NAJAD LOCK” and “DIVER 300M,” “300 m/1000ft.”
Speedmaster Moonwatch Velcro Straps
To celebrate the shared history of the global watchmaker and the famous American space agency, OMEGA is introducing a range of new Velcro straps with astronaut-friendly fixtures. OMEGA’s Velcro® straps are available in three colors : black, white and silver.
Black represents the darkness of space and the actual straps worn on the lunar surface. The shade is also a perfect match for the Moonwatch dial. It’s also worth noting that black is classic – and cool.
White is a nod to the Apollo-era spacesuits and the evocative title of OMEGA’s historic mission to create the perfect space watch – the Alaska Project.
Silver pays tribute to the shiny suits worn on the pre-Apollo missions : Gemini and Mercury. It is also a suitable bracelet replacement for wearers who like the versatility of Velcro and the look of metal.
